Now Accepting Applications for Police Officer Positions

The Frederick Police Department accepts applications for entry-level and in-state lateral police officer positions on a continual basis.  Once your application is received your name is placed in the applicant pool.  Once we move forward with a selection process, all eligible applicants in the pool are notified.

ENTRY-LEVEL POSITIONS:
We conduct approximately one entry-level selection process per year to fill our academy.  We are building our applicant pool for the 60th Frederick Police Academy which is scheduled to begin in fall 2018.  The selection process for the 60th Academy began in March 2017.  We will offer several testing sessions starting in March 2017 and finishing in February 2018.

IN-STATE LATERAL POSITIONS:
We process in-state lateral application several times throughout the year depending on the number of job vacancies we have.  Candidates must currently possess MPCTC police officer certification, or be eligible for re-certification within three years of separation.

The City of Frederick is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.  It is our policy that qualified individuals will be considered for employment, promotion, training, and retention, without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, or genetic information.
